Jeff Steele is a Senior Director of Business Development and an Advisor to the Hughes Energy Group Board, having worked in the energy sector for over 25 years. At Hughes, Steele is responsible for developing partnerships in the U.S. around feedstock supply options, fiber offtake opportunities, and site development plans.
Prior to Hughes Energy, Steele spent seven years as a Director of Corporate Advisory Services at Eurasia Group, a top geopolitical risk consultancy, where he led the firm’s business development efforts in the global energy, mining, chemicals, and agribusiness spaces. His group focused on the risks and opportunities for natural resources companies around energy independence, energy transition, climate and sustainability, green/renewable energy, and ESG. Prior to Eurasia, Steele spent 15 years at PIRA Energy Group, directing the firm’s business development, marketing and client management functions, and helping the firm triple in size to become the world’s leading energy market fundamentals and price forecasting firm. Steele holds an MA in International Economics and Russian Studies from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a BA in Russian Studies from Lafayette College.
